Diaries of an Innkeeper, part something

Those who read [personal profile] glynhogen might be looking for a Part 2 of the Grand Theft Pontoon Boat incident: I hopped in the then-fully-functional boat and met them where they were stuck. Probably no more than about 100 yards from shore. They were very apologetic, told me that they'd tried calling us to ask about the boats, and while they were standing there, a different guest was coming in and told them they could just take it. They reported being skeptical but the other guest was very convincing, pulled a "tell them to take it up with me if they don't like it". I towed them back without further incident. Later, the other guest in question told me that they had intended to say something like "we're done with this boat for the day, we have it rented the whole day, so we don't mind if you use it for a little while". So big misunderstandings all around and I think the would-be boat thieves felt sheepish. We replaced the fuel line in the boat that was missing one just in time for the Other Guest to hit something or get the prop tangled up such that all three propeller blades popped out. They are made to be individually replaceable and pop out before you do serious damage to your motor, but replacing them is still kind of annoying.
